Welcome to Valley Center Pop Warner Cheerleading. We are looking forward to a very exciting 2011-2012 Cheer season. There is a cheerleading team for all ages beginning at 5 years old, up to 15 years old. The competitive teams start at around 10 years old. It is a great way to make new friends, get in shape and develop dance, stunt, and tumbling skills for the future VC High School Dance and Cheerleading.
Discount sign-ups begin in April for all cheerleaders. Be sure to sign up on time, to insure you have a space on the team, have a uniform on time for the season, and have everything you need for the upcoming season. The practice season begins August 2nd for all teams.
All of the teams will attend a cheer camp either August 6th (flag, MM, Jr. Pee Wee, and Pee Wee teams), or 7th (Jr. Midget and Midget teams). In October Each team will have a chance to perform their skills they have learned at our Local Competition, which includes San Diego Co. teams and Riverside teams, Palomar Conference. (Flag and MM are not judged). Depending on how the team does, the competitive teams will then move on to the Regional Competition, (TBD). If you place in the top 2 teams at Regionals, you will then be advanced to Nationals, Walt Disney World Florida. Some of the Competitive year round teams choose to go on to outside competitions. This year the Midget team competed in 3 additional competitions. The competitions then qualified them to go to JAMZ Nationals, which is held each year in Las Vegas.The Valley Center Pop Warner Midget Cheerleading team traveled to Jamz Nationals in January. The team competed in two different divisions, Show Cheer, which is traditional cheerleading and dance, and Character Dance, which is a dance division that must incorporate many styles of dance as well as tell a story. The team placed 2nd place, in the Character dance, which was based on the popular James Cameron's, Avatar, movie. The team had a very successful season, and is now off for a break.
